THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

Chasing the Light was inspired by my daily drives through the Illinois landscape—a quiet, recurring study of sky, light, and atmosphere. The horizon is never quite the same. Clouds gather and shift, sunlight breaks through, and an ordinary stretch of road can suddenly become something extraordinary.

In this piece, three distinct beams emerge through dense clouds, creating a sense of movement and direction. Darkness is present, but it does not overwhelm the light. Instead, the light breaks through it—revealing a way forward.

The landscape became a metaphor for a larger question: What light are we following?

Chasing the Light is a reminder to keep looking toward what is true, hopeful, and enduring, even when the way ahead is not entirely clear.

Darkness may gather. Still, the light persists.
