THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

There is a particular kind of beauty found in something just beginning to fade.

In Fading Glory, the petals of a peony unfurl and gently descend into darkness. Its season of full bloom is passing, yet traces of its beauty remain—the memory of its color, its fragrance, and the warmth of summer days.

Perhaps some of the most beautiful things in our lives are made more precious because we cannot hold onto them forever. Seasons change. People change. Moments pass. What was once vibrant eventually gives way to something new.

And yet, what we have loved does not simply disappear. Its imprint can remain long after the moment itself has passed.

Fading Glory is an invitation to notice beauty while it is here, to hold it with open hands, and to remember that something does not have to last forever to have mattered deeply.
