THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

Sometimes the light that leads us out of darkness arrives through another person—a voice that speaks at just the right moment, a presence that stays when life becomes difficult, or a hand extended when we no longer know the way forward.

In Sacred Light, a radiant burst of gold and white breaks through layers of blue clouds, spilling toward the landscape below. The darkness has not disappeared, but it begins to retreat in the presence of the light.

The piece reflects the sacred role we can play in one another’s lives. In seasons of grief, uncertainty, or chaos, we may become bearers of light for each other—sometimes without ever fully realizing the significance of what we have offered.

And perhaps part of finding our way through darkness is learning to recognize those moments of light when they appear.

Who has been that light for you?
