A commissioned piece created for Lifesong for Orphans—a nonprofit dedicated to supporting vulnerable children around the world.
Isaiah 61 tells the story of God bringing beauty from ashes, comfort to the brokenhearted, and restoration to those who mourn. The chapter describes a powerful image: we become “oaks of righteousness,” planted by the Lord to display His splendor.
My hope is that this piece reflects that promise—strong, rooted, flourishing even in difficult soil.
